Thanks to a small group of Layweeders, Emmanuel’s gardens are looking good, but help is needed for more parishioners to care for and be good stewards of our grounds.
Families with Sunday School children: Envision a family effort to remove the dandelions and weeds, deadhead the shrubs along the walk immediately west of the CE building.
Families with middle school and high school age children: Envision a family effort to weed, prune, rake, water in the gardens to the north and south of the Teen Center, areas that don’t have automatic sprinklers. People who use the library for meetings: Envision a team of your group members to weed between the paving stones, prune, rake in the sunken garden. Emmanuel’s grounds belong to all of us, and we all need to do our share of tending to them. With the budget concerns we have, we cannot afford a garden service. We are hoping that someone will volunteer to Chair the Layweeders, and all of the volunteers will be helpful to this person. Please contact a member of the vestry or Hunt to let him know how you and your family can help to be good stewards of our grounds.
