Children’s Christian formation 2009-2010
We will offer Children’s formation in the 9:15-10:15 education hour throughout the year.
Younger kids (3-7) will continue with the LeaderResources Curriculum, a modular theme-based curriculum that provides adult ministers with flexibility in planning and kids with core Bible and worship content.
Older kids (8+) will begin a new program P & E that will provide learners with a chance to practice liturgy and encounter Christ through action-based reflection. Older kids will also have the opportunity to rehearse music for the 10:30 liturgy in the P & E time.
Children’s Chapel (Toddler-7)
Children’s Chapel takes place throughout the year at the 10:30 Eucharist, whenever there is not a child-oriented sermon. Parents, grandparents, and other adults are invited to attend with their children. The format of Children’s Chapel is meant to introduce elements of the liturgy and Bible to children in an interactive format. Children attending Children’s Chapel always hear a Lesson from the Revised Common Lectionary (the same Lessons read in the nave), sing service music, and practice intercessory prayer.
Emmanuel Early Music Ensemble– Thursday afternoons 4:15-5:15 @ the nave
Begins September 17!
Emmanuel Early Music Ensemble (8+) is an exciting opportunity for musical exploration, growth, and fun. Kids and leaders will sing and use instruments to help find our musical voice. The context will be the Sunday liturgy. Kids who participate on Thursdays will be better equipped to lead the same songs on Sunday mornings. Contact Jack Barben with questions.
