I want to take one more opportunity to thank the Emmanuel congregation for the warm and thoughtful send-off given to Terry this past Sunday. It washeartfelt and generous, as was the purse we collected for him. He has a very nice note in Sunday's bulletin, an electronic version of which is iincluded in the main part of this weekly email as well. How we say "goodbye" to people, whether they be staff members or parishioners says much about who we are as a gathered community.
Over the course of the summer, we will all have a chance to meet our new musician, Jack Barben. I'm so glad this next chapter of Emmanuel music is beginning in our informal season. Once he's settled in and the Emmanuel family has gathered back together in the fall on a more regular basis, we'll welcome him "officially." Please plan to come to church ready to sing. My hope for the summer is that more and more voices will be heard during the services and that many of you will consider "trying out" the summer choir, with the possibility of joining that incredible bunch of Emmanuel folk in the fall.
When you see Jack and Melanie, who is looking forward to being a part of this community as well, please welcome them in your usual manner. My family and I were on the receiving end of that this time last year and it made all the difference. Hunt+
